The Alaskan Landscape, Pyra's Farm

One of the photos Bryan got of the sublime landscape of the Yukon on the Alaskan Highway. I think it was about 10:30 or 11:00pm, just about sunset.
More wildlife in Canada... (I'm glad they're not this big in real life.)

A couple of weeks after coming to Anchorage, Bryan had the opportunity to go ice-climbing with the Scouts (see first post of this blog). Here is yet another gorgeous photo that takes my breath away every time that I see it.

These next two are photos of Bryan taking the family to "Pyra's Farm," a U-Pick type of garden about an hour away from Anchorage. I was told it used to be a Church welfare farm. The mountains in the background are the same ones that I see here every day. The scenery makes me feel like I'm living on the back of a postcard.

We really enjoyed our visit and hope to go again this summer - though we still have plenty of rhubarb and zucchini in our freezer. We picked quite a lot of it - the kids were so cute it was hard not to.

  1. It looks so gorgeous I'm jealous! Of course not so jealous about the being so far away from everyone part. We miss you guys! How are you surviving winter? Is it true that the sun hardly shines at all in the winter and then it's shining all day and nigh in the summer? I didn't know you had a blog till I clicked on your comment to see how to contact you. I'll email you mmy phone number if you want. Are you still gorgeousjen?
